INDIA ❤️

Hey hey! Wow... it's been crazy hectic recently since I arrived in INDIA so this weeks post is a little late! Anyway, my adventure in Sri Lanka ended and I arrived to India. It still hasn't quite sunk in that I'm in India. It's been a week already and my experience has been INCREDIBLE.  So first I arrived to Chennai. I arrived super early in the morning so had a few hours to burn before heading to the hotel. I met a Chinese man, from Beijing, who struggled due to language barriers. It was honestly so amazing for me to help him, with the basic Chinese language speaking ability that I have, to exchange money, by him to his hotel and even help him book his train ticket to New Delhi at the station the next day. It's further inspired me to continue passionately with my Chinese learning. Being in India, I am genuinely inspired to learn Hindi. It's pretty similar to Punjabi so I sort of have a head start. Hearing the Hindi all around me has made me feel as if I'...

Sri Lanka SOLO Travel Blog 2

hey hey!! Finally got myself some fairly stable WIFI. I'm in the South Coast of Sri Lanka now, in Tangalle, currently sat in a restaurant by the beach. I'm nearing up to the end of my two week trip to Sri Lanka. Damn it's been incredible. After leaving Sigiriya, I was on the bus to Kandy whereby I got chatting  to a lovely man who in the end arranged for me to stay in an amazing Sri Lankan woman's home; his friend whom he would be meeting once we got off the bus in Kandy. She was so lovely and took me to her home far up in the hilly jungle. She had a very simple home, no proper roof, shower or kitchen;  but still cooked me the most delicious meal which we ate with our hands. The next day, I explored her area by tuk tuk and foot. I'm so used to seeing wild peacocks, all sorts of small and big lizards  and monkeys around. It was amazing to see so many natural fruits and products growing in trees too, such as black pepper, aloe Vera, jackfruit, bananas and papaya. Lat...

Sri Lanka SOLO Travel Blog One

Hey guys! It's a slightly late post this week because I'm in Sri Lanka and have lacked wifi etc! I'm currently sat in the balcony of my treehouse situated in the jungle of Sigirriya, Sri Lanka. My trip so far has been incredible. I spent a night in Negombo, close to the airport, and then the next morning took the local bus for about 4-5hours (changing bus) to Kalpytia. At first, I felt secluded and uneasy traveling alone as a woman. I quickly fell in love with the place,  made friends with a Swedish man in the neighboring villa, got quickly attached to the young boy who was the owner of the villas son and had an amazing time. The Swedish man had hired a  scooter in which we rode to Dutch beach with after a relaxing (and also exhausting morning because my bag pack broke but cut a long story short I got a new one with the help of a Tuk tuck driver driving me around kalpitiya) morning.  That evening we also made friends with a lovely Russian couple who were amazing enough...

New Year's in Guilin!

Image
So I’m on the plane back to Shanghai from my four-day trip to Guilin. I’ve just watched a very emotional episode of Eastenders and I’m pretty exhausted; so I’m feeling pretty mellow. I thought why not, perfect time to write my New Year’s blog and update you on what I’ve been up to recently. Damn, I think it was the best idea I’ve ever had to book New Year’ weekend travel away to Guilin. I feel like I’ve been to heaven and back. Guilin is truly the most magical, picturesque, beautiful and mystifying place I’ve been to; not only in China but the world. So, I flew on Wednesday evening and arrived into Guilin around 10pm. I pretty easily managed to take the airport city shuttle bus to the aviation building and then spontaneously took a motorbike taxi to my hostel; Sky Palace Hostel . It’s New Year’s so I decided to splash out a bit and book a private queen room for myself to be comfortable. I checked in and passed out ready to explore the next day! On the first day...
