A splendid sunny week!

Image
Hey guys!! So, It’s been another awesome week! On Wednesday it was two of my friend’s birthdays so a bunch of us got together for an Indian dinner; which was lovely! Was nice to have some mid-week fun, catch up with people and eat Indian food of course. The rest of the week pretty much flew by what with my usual Thursday evening Chinese classes and in no time it was Friday. On Friday I had the morning to relax at home, do some work and clean my room. Then, I headed to Xujiahui for another Chinese lesson at 2:30. After this, I went to my tutoring class and taught the students for an hour and a half. As you can see, it was a productive day! I usually stay and have dinner with my tutoring family, but this time I had dinner planned with a friend. So after class I took the metro to Xujiahui again and went to a famous Xinjiang food restaurant; but I’ve forgotten the name of it (I’ll look it up and re-edit this soon). We had a scrumptious meal alongside some local, live danci...

Spring has arrived in Shanghai!

Image
Hey hey hey!! So, it’s been a nice week or so since I’ve come back to Shanghai from Busan – especially because of the weather! Teaching didn’t feel too much like teaching last week because all week I did EASTER lessons for all my grades and hobby classes. I always find the teaching more fun when the lesson is fun. We did lots of activities, games, watched videos, learned about Spring and Easter, as well as making Easter cards. I really do love this time of the year! Spring has definitely arrived in Shanghai. It’s sunny, 23-28degrees and trees are blossoming! Unfortunately, around Wednesday last week I got ill. So, it took me a few days to recover. On Friday, I opted to stay close to home and went to a cosy, familiar cafĂ© close to Loshanguan Road. I spent most of my afternoon here working, drinking hot lemon water and writing. In the evening, because I was still ill and fancied a chilled one, I watched Dev Patel’s movie – Lion and caught up on the new series of PRI...

Japan & Busan, South Korea!

Image
HEY GUYS! Wow oh wow… since the last time I wrote (about ten days ago) I’ve been to Japan and Korea. These were the perfect countries for me to choose because at this time of the year is the beautiful Sakura season!  I’ve been lucky enough to witness the glowing Sakura in Takamatsu, Naoshima, Shodoshima, Tokyo and Busan. It’s been absolutely indescribably wonderful. So, my first trip was a Friday morning to the very early hours of Wednesday morning trip to Japan. This amounted to basically five days which was a perfect holiday for me. It was the Qingming Festival, in China, that allowed for me to have this amazing trip. A festival of appreciation and respect for dead ancestors. I stayed in a really great, cosy and lovely hostel in Takamatsu; called Takamatsu BJ Guesthouse. On the day I arrived it was raining quite badly (luckily I didn’t have any rain and nothing but sunshine for the rest of my days in Japan) so I decided to do more indoor activities like shopp...
